Personnel
The
first step our Personnel Manager takes in
selecting new officers is reviewing the
completed application or resume. In addition
to providing general background on the applicant,
this review reveals whether the applicant
can follow the simple orders and has accepted
written communication skills. The second
step is an in-depth interview during which
the Personnel Manager assesses the applicant.
Qualified
candidates are further screened with references
and fingerprint checks, including State
of Texas and F.B.I. fingerprint clearance.
Also, inquiries are sent to every named
former employer for the previous five years.
Prior to being hired, officers will be screened
with the highly respected screening tool
developed by Reid Psychological Systems,
the originators or the written integrity
test. It is a paper and pencil questionnaire
used to identify job applicants whose integrity
and productivity are suitable for the work
environment. The Reid Report addresses the
individual’s attitudes toward honesty,
job stability, drug and alcohol abuse.
